Ruth graduated with BA Honours in Interior Architecture from Cardiff Metropolitan University in 1987. She spent working 4 years working for Design Agencies and Architectural Practices designing commercial build projects.
In 1991 Ruth joined the BBC Wales Design Department where she had the opportunity to work along side many talented BBC designers and worked on many productions. In 1995 she became a BBC Designer.
In 2000 Ruth started Ruth Arnold Production Design. She has designed a wide variety of television productions, corporate productions and events including light entertainment, news and current affairs, sports, children’s, animation and drama productions. She has a proven record for creating original and imaginative sets that have successfully delivered the full potential of the client’s brief and budget. Ruth Arnold Production Design is based in Cardiff and offers a reliable comprehensive and inspired design service from concept to completion.
She has worked for many major broadcasters including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, S4C, UKTV Yesterday as well as many independent production companies.
Ruth has a recognised ability to undertake all aspects of the design process from the initial presentation of the concept through to accurate costings, careful selection of contractors, supervision of the build and tight control over all aspects of the installation of the set during production.
With a close working relationship with leading contractors and suppliers recognised for their expertise. Ruth is able to negotiate and secure competitive terms and she has a strong reputation for efficient budget management.
